Protecting the Coastline, Exploring Geological Wonders: DynaScan Joins Chroma Group in Beach Cleanup

Continuing our commitment to environmental stewardship, DynaScan Technology once again joined hands with Chroma A7 Headquarters and the Chroma Cultural and Educational Foundation for the final chapter of this year’s Environmental Education Trilogy at Keelung Heping Island. Under the theme “Habitat Conservation · Ocean Protection · Landscape Exploration,” this initiative reflects our shared mission to take tangible steps toward a low-carbon, sustainable lifestyle, including organizing a beach cleanup.

Uniting for a Cleaner Coastline

A total of 158 participants—including employees and family members from both Chroma and DynaScan—came together with partners Eco-Friendly Seeds and Slow Island Travel for a meaningful day of coastal conservation, focusing on a holistic beach cleanup approach.

Despite the blazing sun and rugged terrain, the volunteers collected an impressive 535 kilograms of marine debris along the scenic Alabo Bay coastline. Among the recovered items were discarded appliances, tires, pipes, and fishing nets—reminders of the urgent need to reduce waste and safeguard our oceans.

Through data compiled by the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), participants gained valuable insights into marine waste composition, recording 848 PET bottles, 1,138 plastic caps, 297 straws, and other common items. The session reinforced the message that while beach cleanups are vital, waste reduction and awareness in daily life remain the most effective ways to protect marine ecosystems.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Chroma Cultural and Educational Foundation Chairman Ying Cheng opened the event by expressing gratitude for the growing participation in these annual cleanups. This year, 49 children joined their parents—symbolizing the next generation’s role in environmental protection and learning about the impact of a beach cleanup.

“This event is not only about cleaning up,” said Chairman Cheng. “It’s about learning from our environment, understanding our impact, and nurturing a sustainable mindset that extends into everyday life.”

Following the cleanup, an environmental education workshop encouraged children and adults alike to share creative eco-friendly ideas, such as using reusable utensils, minimizing single-use plastics, and reimagining ways to repurpose everyday materials.

These activities embodied the event’s purpose: transforming environmental education from an abstract concept into meaningful, lasting action.

Discovering Taiwan’s Natural Heritage

Participants also explored the island’s unique geological features through a guided tour led by experts from the Heping Island Geopark. The tour deepened participants’ understanding of Taiwan’s natural evolution and cultural history—fostering a greater sense of connection to the land, enhanced by their involvement in the beach cleanup.

Continuing the Journey Toward Sustainability

This initiative marks the conclusion of Chroma Group’s 2025 Environmental Education Trilogy, which hosted three environmental events across northern, central, and southern Taiwan. Through these hands-on programs, the company continues to champion sustainability through education, participation, and collective action.

At DynaScan, we are proud to support and participate in these efforts—aligning with our own commitment to sustainable practices, community engagement, and corporate social responsibility, highlighted by our recent beach cleanup involvement.
